Committee Procedures

Any additions or deletions that change the portfolio of the university should pass through the Academic Planning Committee for endorsement.

This includes additions or eliminations of majors, minors and programs. Provost in consultation with APC Chair will decide on a whether program revisions are considered significant enough to be reviewed by APC on a case by case basis. Creation of new departments and elimination of existing departments should be reviewed by APC.

Proposing New Programs Procedure

  1. Consult the flowchart above.
  2. Complete the APC Business Proposal Template and transfer the text of your proposal to the in Etreive.
  3. Complete the Academic Business Plan Model and attach to your proposal in Etreive.
  4. Launch Etreive proposal for signatures from all affected programs, deans, Provost, VPFSO, MSCHE Liaison and Assessment Committee Chair. The proposal will be available to you in Etreive once all signatories have signed the document.
  5. Create new proposal in and attach both the signed Etrieve document and the business plan model.
  6. Enter required information in the Curriculog form and formally launch your proposal. The information on this form will be used by the Curriculum Committee to review your proposal after APC approval.
  7. Complete Curriculog proposals received no later than one week prior will be reviewed at the next APC meeting. The committee meets on the first Tuesday of the month during fall and spring semesters.
  8. Attendance at the APC meeting in which your proposal will be discussed is strongly encouraged. 
  9. APC will vote on the proposal at the time of its presentation unless further information is needed. In that case, the committee will communicate any requests directly to the person who submitted the proposal.
  10. If the APC endorses the proposal, the APC Chair will forward the Curriculog proposal to the Curriculum Committee to review at their next scheduled meeting. 
  11. The completed proposal will be maintained within Curriculog.

  1. Consult the flowchart above.
  2. Complete the APC Business Proposal Template and transfer the text of your proposal to the in Etreive.

  6. Complete Curriculog program elimination proposals received no later than one week prior will be reviewed at the next APC meeting. The committee meets on the first Tuesday of the month during fall and spring semesters.
